In this Sunday's Gospel, Jesus reminds us of the importance of being prepared and keeping our hearts close to God. Through the parable of the ten virgins, we learn that faith is not something we should put off until tomorrow. Just as the wise virgins kept their lamps filled with oil, we must keep our faith alive through prayer, love, kindness, and good works.
Life can bring unexpected challenges, distractions, and moments when we may feel distant from God. Yet Jesus calls us to remain watchful, faithful, and ready to welcome Him into our lives each day. We cannot depend on yesterday’s prayers or someone else’s faith; we must nurture our own relationship with the Lord.
As we go through this week, let us ask ourselves: Are our lamps filled with the oil of faith, hope, and love? Are we making room for God in our daily lives? May we never become so busy with the things of this world that we forget what matters most.
May our hearts always be ready to welcome Christ, and may our lives shine brightly with His love until the day we meet Him face to face. Amen.
