Tri-Parish Catholic Community St. Ann • OLPH • Mother of Sorrows

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us, “Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” Through these words, Jesus reminds us that while we have responsibilities in our families, communities, and society, our first allegiance belongs to God. We are created in His image and called to reflect His love, mercy, and goodness in everything we do.

Giving to God means more than praying or attending Mass. It means offering Him our hearts, using our gifts to serve others, forgiving those who hurt us, and choosing what is right even when it is difficult. Our faith should not be limited to the church; it should be visible in the way we treat our neighbors, care for those in need, and fulfill our daily responsibilities with honesty and compassion.

As we reflect on this Gospel, let us ask ourselves: Am I giving God the place He deserves in my life? May we remember that everything we have is a gift from Him and that we are called to use these gifts for His glory. May our words and actions reflect the image of God within us, so that through our lives, others may experience His love and presence in the world.
