In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us the story of two sons. The first son initially refuses his father’s request, but later changes his mind and goes to work. The second son says “yes,” but does not follow through. Through this simple story, Jesus reminds us that our relationship with God is shown not only by what we say, but by what we do.
Sometimes we may say “no” to God through our choices, selfishness, or unwillingness to forgive. Yet God always gives us the opportunity to change, return to Him, and begin again. Our past mistakes do not have to be the final word in our lives.
Every day, God invites us to say “yes” through acts of kindness, forgiveness, compassion, prayer, and service. A sincere “yes” to God becomes visible in the way we treat our family, our neighbors, and those who are in need.
May we have humble and willing hearts, ready to change when necessary, and may our actions each day show that our “yes” to God is sincere.
